Incentive Spirometer
Incentive Spirometer

I’m an RT and am looking for creative ways to let the patient know when their breathing tx is about over.?
Also, I would like creative ideas for ending/starting other therapies like the incentive spirometer, ezpap, bipap, the mechanical ventilator, etc. I really want to make my patients feel comfortable and at ease.
Another thing is icebreakers when entering the patients room. Obviously I introduce myself and why I’m there but do you do anything else?…Like, if it’s a frequent flyer?
What about on exit? I’ve heard health professionals say they don’t ever want to see them back…meaning that they don’t want them to get sick again.
Thanks, I look forward to reading all your creative ideas and can’t wait to choose the best one.
IDK, I’m not very creative I guess. I am just friendly and try to educate to patient on how to properly breathe and clean the Neb kits or supplies when they are home. Take that time to educate your patients.
I do make small talk depending on the situation. the weather, national news, their families if I have met them, their pets (I’m in home care). It is OK to be friendly but professional.
