Glock safety question?
What safeties do Glocks have? Let me re-phrase that. If the trigger is pulled, is there any safety that will prevent the Glock from going off?
For instance, the 1911 has a grip safety, so if the trigger gets snagged on something, it won’t go off. And it also has an external safety. So it will only go off if you are gripping it and flip the external safety off.
Is the Glock much more like a DA revolver in that respect? The only safety is to make sure the trigger is not pulled?
I’m not disrespecting the Glock. I just want to understand it is all.
short answer: if the trigger is pulled (by finger or other object) it will fire. The “safeties” are controlled by the trigger, which sucks. Many people have been hurt or killed by the glocks “safe action trigger” and this is why, even though I am a glock armorer, I don’t recommend them to most people. I know, this gets me thumbs down from some people, which is silly because number one I think they are a good pistol, especially if you have installed the after market manual frame mounted safety, and number two this is my opinion based on research, and fact.
